19 Teams competed in the SC Upstate Classic series on Clark Hill on 4/26/2025.
This event was a JOINT event with the SC Upstate LEGACY Series and the SC Upstate CLASSIC Series.
Our Host site, Abbeville First Baptist Church, was more than prepared to show us some good ole southern hospitality. They provided a meal of fried chicken and all the fixings. The guys there are servants at heart, and we are so grateful to have AFBC as a ministry partner.
We were also happy to have one of our Upstate Church Staff Pastors, Dallas Wilson to deliver an encouraging message. Dallas expained how Paul's faith was more than just a decision, but a full comitment. The story of his marathon and running the race in which the goal was to reach the finish line is what Paul refers to in scripture about his faith. We have choices to make every day. Those choices are driven from what is really driving us deep down inside. Are we striving to live our life for the short term rewards of this life, or are we seeking to finish the race tha God has given us? "ONLY WHAT'S DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST." Where are you in your faith journey? Is Jesus the BEST thing ever for you, like he was was for Paul?
Saturday was a great day on the water. Many fish were caught, but not many Bigs were cooperating.
Jason Burroughs and Darren Ashley managed to grind out the win with 16.97 lbs.
$1500 for 1st Place
We're looking forward to next month on Hartwell, as our points race has bcome a Tie going into the 5th event. We'll see who ends up on top and earn a berth into the 2026 FOM National Event on Toledo Bend.
