Straber and Hackler Hold on to Division Lead While Stop #2 Winners Schwedler & Feld Jump into 3rd Overall
The Indiana North Division made its second stop on Dewart Lake, the smallest lake on the 2025 schedule for the division.
Seven teams met and stayed at the Hunt Lodge on the beautiful Quaker Haven Campground. Following the meal, Chaplain Adam Linkenhoker reflected on the story of the Israelites during their escape from Egypt, focusing on how God used trials—including Pharaoh’s pursuit and the Red Sea crossing—to build their faith and trust. He related this to how modern believers often forget God's past faithfulness when facing new challenges. Linkenhoker encouraged attendees to remember what God has already done in their lives and to trust His presence and purpose in current struggles.
The message concluded with a reminder that God leads us not to harm us, but to deliver us—even when the path seems uncertain or difficult. Linkenhoker challenged the Fishers of Men community to reflect on their spiritual journey and to seek God’s direction rather than relying solely on their own understanding.
The event featured eight teams, each striving for the top spot under a five-fish, 14-inch minimum limit format.
Despite challenging conditions, Schwedler and Feld secured the win with a three-fish bag totaling 4.24 lbs. The Straber family teams also performed well, taking second and third place. Notably, the big fish of the day was a 2.6-pounder caught by Gary Straber and Jeffery Hackler.
Stop #3 will take the division to Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana, on June 14.
