Clothed in Christ, Casting for Glory at Lake Tippecanoe
Under sunny skies and a steady breeze off the lake, Stop #4 of the Fishers of Men Indiana North Division unfolded Saturday on the scenic waters of Lake Tippecanoe near Leesburg, Indiana. With temperatures peaking at a summery 87°F (30.6°C), anglers and families gathered not only to compete but to reflect, reconnect, and be renewed in spirit.
The Friday night gathering at Quaker Haven Camp, where teams were offered to a warm meal and message before sunrise casts hit the water. Chaplain Adam Linkenholker brought the message titled “What Wardrobe Are You Wearing?” and challenged everyone to consider whether their lives reflected the world or the Word.
“We often wear the wardrobe of the world,” Linkenholker said, referencing 1 Corinthians 7:31, “but Scripture calls us to something different.”
Cautioning against false appearances, he shared from Matthew 12:33–36, painting the image of wolves in sheep’s clothing—those who appear righteous but whose words and deeds betray them.
The challenge, he said, is to “Put on the wardrobe of Christ” as described in Colossians 3:12–14: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and love. His message reminded anglers that what we wear spiritually matters more than what we wear to the weigh-in stage.
?? TOURNAMENT RESULTS – STOP #4
With spirits high and rods ready, teams launched onto Lake Tippecanoe for a full day of competitive fishing. The lake provided a fair challenge—calm in the morning, slightly windier into the afternoon—but plenty of bass made their way to the scales.
Top Finishers – Stop #4:
1st Place: Gary Straber & Jeff Hackler - 5 fish weighing 11.79 lbs
2nd Place: Husband and Wife Team, Carol & Sharon Brown with 5 bass at 10.27 lbs
3rd Place: Kelvin Michael and Nephew Dravin with 5 bass and squeaking in 10.05 lbs
Big Bass of the Day: Gary Straber – 3.41 lbs
The team of Gary Straber and Jeff Hackler put together a solid bag and clinched both first place and big bass honors, a double victory that places them in excellent standing heading into the final event.
With four events in the books, the trail now turns its attention to Stop #5 at Prairie Creek Reservoir near Muncie, Indiana on August 9. As the final event of the regular season, it's expected to draw strong competition and could very well shift the leaderboard before the division championship.
The Indiana North Division continues to be more than a tournament—it’s a ministry on the move, with boats full of brothers and sisters in Christ, casting lines and living faith out loud.
