Our third Friday night meeting was held at Summitt Crossing Church where we were served a meal of KFC chicken finger boxes with sides and a chocolate chip cookie.  We had 55 teams prepared to fish in our Saturday tournament on Wheeler.  During the meal, Kel Thomas, one of our fishermen provided special music and then we were presented a thougth provoking message by Chris Cooper.

Saturday the teams were a little worried about the weather as it was predicted to be very windy.  There were some stong gusts of wind, but overall it turned out to be a fair fishng day.  We had some good bags of fish weighed in and paid out 11 places.  Surratt and McMahan took the first place with 19.52 pounds.  Second went to Grisham and Stewart with 19.19 pounds.  Simpson and Carruth placed third with 19.13 pounds.  Reeves and Reeves had 17.39 pounds for 4th place.  Fifth place went to Loveday and Loveday with 17.07 pounds.  The team of Barnette and Barnette took 6th place with 16.95 pounds.  Seventh place was Aldridge and Hill with 16.88 pounds.  Beck and Harvey secured 8th place with 16.69 pounds.  Thomas and Slappy had 15.78 pounds for 9th place.  Tenth place went to Whitten and Sherrill with 15.76 pounds and 11th went to Defoor and Defoor with 14.87 pounds.

Our next tournament will be on Guntersville lake on 5/20/17.  The Friday night meeting will be held at the beach pavilion.  Registration will begin at 5:30pm and the meal will begin at 6:00pm.  Late fees are in effect, so get your entries postmarked by 5/12/17.
