Lake Murray Re-Cap

We had a fantastic meeting and meal provided to us by the Mens Ministry team at Dutch Fork Baptist Church this past Friday night! We are very grateful for the invitation to come down and host our second meeting of the year at Dutch Fork Baptist! Matt Barr was our guest speaker, and the words that the Lord gave him to speak really hit home with some of us. It truly is amazing to see God work through others to grow his Kingdom, it never gets old! Thank You all so much for Having us!

     -It was a Little Windy out on Lake Murray to say the Least! But in the end, as always, we had several teams that slayed the Windy Beast known as Lake Murray this past Saturday February 25th. Stacey James and Chris Collier bested the field with a healthy bag of Largemouth that weighed 21.69! Chris and Stacey Took home nearly $6,000.00 for a days worth of fishing! Tanner Parker and Brad Rutherford were coming off of a strong finish at lake Greenwood in January, and they kept their momentum going strong at Lake Murray with a very nice bag of fish that weighed 20.60 lbs. with a Beautiful 7.31 lb. Largemouth that took Big fish honors for the day. They netted 2nd place in the tournament and the optional Bonus Bucks pot, earning them just over a 2k payday! Upstate Ringers Jon and Michael Anders ended up finishing 3rd on the day with their catch of 20.29 lbs. Earning them nearly $1,200.00 on the day! Pretty much all of our top ten teams reported catching fish up shallow and said they also saw quite a few fish on beds already, seems kinds crazy hearing tales of fish on beds in February but it is very true on Lake Murray right now! Congratulations to our top 3 teams and everyone else who braved the ferocious winds this past Saturday.

     -There was some confusion about Blast-Off positions being handed out the morning of the tournament. I just want to take a second and clear up any confusion with that. We officially ended up with 83 boats competing on Saturday morning, all 83 of those teams were registered/Paid in full before the speaker started speaking and manually inputted into our system by Friday night at Midnight. There were no entries accepted the morning of the tournament. We did have to hand out Blast-off cards to the teams that were not in attendance at the meeting on Friday night however, and that was approximately 20 teams. Teams that are pre-registered but don't attend the meeting are automatically assigned a new blast-off number at the rear of the field and they also lose their 50 bonus points that they would have received by attending the meeting. Please do everything you can to have at least one team member at the meeting!
