Salvation is free. Discipleship costs! Our speaker got our attention by explaining that nothing is really “free”. You may receive a gift, but someone paid the price. We have the gift of salvation freely offered, but it cost Jesus His life blood. We are called to be disciples, but it requires commitment, time, energy, financial sacrifice, and/or it could even cost us our lives. Have you received the gift of salvation? There were two recommitments.
Alabama Central held our fourth Friday night meeting at Antioch Baptist Church in Columbiana. The 76 people present enjoyed fried chicken with all the trimmings! Yummy!
Saturday morning dawned rainy with intermittent thunder and lightning, but by blast off time the weather had settled down and the temperature was up to 70. Our 31 teams managed to bring 146 fish to the scale weighting in at 297.56 pounds. First place and 1st Bonus Bucks went to the team of Barley/Barley with 15.17 lbs., including a whooper big fish at 7.30 lbs. Second place went to the team of Brown/Brown with 13.23 lbs. Third place went to the team of Bertarelli/Bertarelli with 12.96 lbs. Fourth place, including 2nd Bonus Bucks, went to the team of Hopper/Hutcheson with 12.95 lbs. Fifth & 3rd Bonus Bucks went to Montalbano/Rockhill with 12.66 lbs. and rounding out our top spots at 6th place was the team of Clark/Fitzgeradld with 11.90 lbs.
