The second event of the 2017 Team Series is complete. The Friday night meeting was held at the Celina Baptist Temple. Thanks to Cliff Rice and his church for opening their doors and providing the fishermen with a great meal of fried chicken, cheese potatoes, green beans, and lots of great deserts. After the meal Cliff’s grandson, Zack Burkholder,  brought us a message telling us how important it is to keep our eyes on Jesus and if we do look away and fall Jesus will have a hand out to pick us up.

On Saturday morning nineteen boats left the east bank ramp of Grand Lake St Marys in search of the winning bag of bass. The threat of thunderstorms did not happen and winds remained light. At 3:00 all the teams returned to the ramp and started bringing their catches to the scales. The report was that the fishing was tough but some teams were able to bag a five bass limit. The team of Gary Sindelir and John Duwel took first place honors with five fish weighing 9.44 lb. Congratulations to Gary and John. Second place was the team of Tayler Coy and Jake Pequignot with a limit weighing 9.31 lbs. Martin and Tyler Noffsinger brought five bass to the scales and took third with 8.22 lbs followed by James Mayle, who was fishing by himself, and brought in a limit which weighed 7.45 lbs. Big Bass honors went to Wes Boothe and Greg Frayley.
