Well the season has came to a close as we had our fifth and final tournament of the season on Barren River Lake.  We started the weekend with some delicious pork bbq and hearing a great message from Erdie the pastor at Glasgow Baptist church.  2017 has been a great season with alot of new friends, we have heard some wonderful speakers, had some good food, and caught some fish along the way.  I am already looking towards the 2018 season.

Saturday morning brought clear skys as 26 teams took off looking for a limit of bass to take home first place.  We also had a tight points race for some added excitement at weigh-in.  Larry Baldock and Ted Grigsby was the points leader going into this tournament by 5 points over Doug Coulter and Todd Wilson who was also the defending 2016 points champions.  Doug and Todd have been in this position in the past going into the final tournamen on Barren River Lake and they came to the scales with a total weight of 16.24lbs to take home first place in the tournament.  Thier fish was caught fishing jigs in brush piles.  In second place with 15.10lbs was Kelly Poynter, Kelly caught his fish using zoom shakey heads and B C Lures jigs on the lower end of the lake.  Coming in third place was the points leaders Larry Baldock and Ted Grigsby with a total weight of 14.28lbs, they caught their fish off shore and in the back of creeks on B C Lures jigs.  Larry and Teds third place finish was good enough to take home the 2017 points champioship, for doing so they earn a spot to fish the National Championship on Guntersville next spring.  Congratulations Guys!  I have already started looking at dates for the 2018 season.  I will have next seasons schedule posted in October, so make plans to fish with us next season!
