Chris Epting and JohnnyMayer win $7030!
Our final event of the 2017 season started off Friday night at Summerton Baptist Church where our anglers had a great meal and heard a great message by Pastor Billy Carlisle about being real men.
When Saturday morning dawned 58 teams left John C Land Landing in search of 5 bucketmouths that Santee is known to hold. When the 3 o’clock weigh-in rolled around it didn’t take long for the fireworks to start as the first team to weigh-in - Tim Hilton and Bucky Clarks brought 5 that weighed 27.71 lbs to the scales. It wasn’t long before Lex and Xan Costas took over the lead when they dropped a limit on the scales that netted them 27.84 lbs. Not to be outdone another father/son team Dwight and Bradford Beavers one upped them with a limit netted 27.93 lbs. But our 2017 Points Champs Chris Epting and Johnny Mayer would have the final say. When the scales settled, their 28.74 lb bag sealed the deal for the win and the Points Title. Altogether this powerhouse team took home $7030.
