Whose example do you follow? Our speaker, Steven Ingram, used 1 Corinthians 11:1 as the basis for his presentation. He told of the examples set by his parents. He said fathers should set the example for children to follow. In the Bible, Paul used Jesus as the example for believers to follow. We should all be followers of Jesus and set him as our role models for how to live life. There was 1 recommitment. 

Alabama Central’s first Legacy meeting for the 2018 season was held at Salem Macon Baptist Church in Liberty City. The church went all out to welcome us by decorating with fishing themes. All the tables held lures and worms! They made Fishers of Men place cards! They fed us a good country style meal with chicken, fresh green beans and mac n’cheese.  There were 52 people present to enjoy the feast and hear the gospel! We thank the church for opening its doors to us.

As usual for Lake Martin, the weather did not cooperate. Our teams were greeted with cold and windy weather.  However, spirits were high! Our youth anglers were eager to get out on the water. Alabama Central has a 3 fish limit for our Legacy teams. Fifteen of our seventeen teams brought a limit to the scales. 100% of the fish were released alive. A total of 48 fish were weighed in for a total of 82.81 pounds. First place and big fish went to the father/daughter/son team of Cook/Cook/Cook with 8.52 lbs. including big fish at 3.17 lbs.  Second place and 1st  bonus bucks went to father/son team of Vaccaro/Vaccaro with  6.23 lbs. Third place and 2nd Bonus Bucks went to the team of Varon/Gibson with 6.16 lbs. Fourth place went to the team of Denny/Deaton 6.02 lbs. Rounding out our winner at fifth place and 3rd bonus bucks was the team of Williams/Brackin with 5.83 lbs. Ford Hallman was the  winner of our weigh-in drawing for a casting reel.

Mr. Walt cooked up some good hot dogs for all the participants and their families on his Masterbuilt grill and Mrs. Pat made her famous M&M cookies! We ate well at our  weigh-in.
