The first tournament weekend of 2018 is complete and what a great one it was. The event started on Friday night with our pre-tournament meeting at the Indian Lake Community Church. Thanks to the church for making us feel welcome.

Pastor Rick shared with us his love of the outdoors and how it was a peaceful place to spend time and how it all began with his Grandpa sharing it with him. Although the outdoors is a peaceful place, his love of Jesus Christ was an even greater and deeper peace. After the message, the ladies of the church fed us like we were kings. Thanks to all for preparing a home cooked meal of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans ending with all the pie you could eat.

Saturday morning started off with the early morning boat check under cool and breezy conditions. Thanks to John Norris for making sure the boats got launched, and around safe light they were sent out looking for the big catch.

At 3:00 p.m. the boats returned to the weigh-in site to show how they had done. Some teams overcame the cold windy conditions and brought in fish. The team of Eric Meachum and Kevin Kronewitter were our winners. Due to a death in Kevin’s family, Eric brought his father as a sub for Kevin and they brought a limit to the scales weighing 15.97 lbs. That is a great catch on Indian Lake, and they received trophies and a nice payout for their efforts. Also, prayers went out to Kevin’s family. Second place went to the team of Danny Ryan and Brian Mailot with a catch of 13.99 lbs. In third was Ron Nutter and James Mayle with five bass weighing 13.10 lbs. The fourth place team had 12.41 lbs followed by Jared Brown and Phil Campbell with 11.53 lbs. Big bass honors went to Zac Munford and Levi Northrup with one bass weighing 5.09 lbs.

 We had 29 boats in this event with 18 limits and a total of 105 bass weighed in and released.
