For our final stop of the 2018 season, Thomson Boat Club was our meeting location. A huge thank you goes out to Darryl Huntsinger and crew for providing a fantastic meal of BBQ (the brisket was the best!!!) And the lemon bars we are still eating on. 33 of the 35 teams were present to hear music from our own Wally Taylor and a message from Dr. Mathew Ward, associate pastor for Thomson First Baptist Church. His words were simple, we are to love and spread Jesus.
As the morning dawned, a threat of rain loomed. All the teams were eager to hit the fishing spots before the sun broke through the clouds. Many teams reported that as the sun heated up the surface, the fishing went downhill. Our anglers gave their best shots at trying to capture a division championship. Leading the way for the event was the team of Wilkie/Wilkie, weighing in 14.59 pounds. Second place went to Stowers/Millsaps with 14.40 pounds. Third place went to Webb/Webb with 13.89 pounds. Big fish belonged to Baskins/Baskins, they had a huge 6.68 pound bucketmouth. Congrats to all!!! Congrats also goes to Stowers/Millsaps for capturing the division championship for 2018.
May I take a moment to say THANK YOU, to each and everyone of you for a tremendous season. Our Lord took care of ALL of US. May you be blessed beyond measure throughout 2018. Keep in touch and keep checking the website for an announcement for the district championship location. THANKS AGAIN, JPLake Clarks Hill - 05/19/18
