Story by Steve Jennings

The fifth East Tennessee Fishers of Men Tournament was held on Fort Loudoun and Tellico Lake.  With $2000 guarantee first place, there were new teams showing up to take their shot at the grand prize.

Kingston Pike Baptist Church was the host church again this year.  The women and men of the church love to host the event every year and we are so thankful for them.   After a great meal we went over to the church where we listened to an inspiring message from our brother in Christ, Pastor Gary Lynn.

The Ameriprise First place went to the father and son team of Ben and Bobby Boggs, giving them over $2200 in winnings.  This team came to the scales with a 5-fish limit weighing in at 15.01 pounds. This duo reported staying on the lower end of the lake most of the day. Ben stated they caught their fish on a Carolina Rig from 20 feet of water.

Second place went to the team of Ronny Jones and Randy Fain who brought 13.69 pounds to the scales. This team’s bag of fish also included the lunker of the tournament a beautiful 5.57 pound largemouth bass.  Ronny reported catching the lunker out deep water on a DD22 crankbait.  With this high finish this team won the Points Championship for the year!

Third place went to another father and son team, Randy and Randall White who came to the scales with a nice bag of fish weighing in at 13 pounds even.  Randy reported using a spinnerbait to catch most of their fish from deep water.

Fourth place went to went to the team of Chase Henley and Caleb Eakins who had a nice bag of fish weighing in at 12.70 pounds.  Caleb reported doing things different, by fishing shallow water using a buzz-bait and flipping.
