What a wonderful weekend! I would like to thank Petersburg First Assembly of God and Pastor Dwayne Walker for Hosting us and providing our meal again this year! We had 24 teams sign up for this event and 21 were represened at the meeting along with some friends and family! Guys I highly encourage everyone to bring their families or a friend to our fellowship on friday, that is what the trail and mission is all about.

The church did a wonderful job and everyone filled up qiuckly on fried chicken, chicken BBQ all the fixin's and some cobbler and ice cream to top it off! We were entertained while we ate by a few worship songs performed by two members of the church, then the message provided by Eddie Gantt began. Eddie has fished with FOM in the past and is a well known name among the areas tournament anglers. Eddie touched on many things in his message and several really stuck out, that I believe resonated with several teams. One is how much time are we preparing for our hobbies in this life vs. how much are we seeking God to prepare for the afterlife. We are always preparing for one or the other either our worldly life or our eternal life, which one are you focusing on?  Secondly Pray about everything, we have a God that can handle it, and there is no "right' way to pray. Have a conversation with the Lord, what ever works best for you, just communicate with God. We closed out our meeting with rules highlights, some raffles, drawing of boat #1 and calling of boat numbers.

Saturday met us warm and with threats of storms during the day. Thankfully we stayed dry for the event, and the deluge of rain came in after everything was packed up! We have had a tremendous amount of rain in the region over the last few weeks, but Lake Chesdin was at normal level and other than the upper reaches the color was not far off of normal.

The lake fished pretty well with 19 of 24 boats bringing limits to the scales, although quality fish were a little harder to come by!

The husband/wife team of Red and Sharyl Fisher figured them out and went home with the win with a 21.10lb bag! This was their first event with us and I hope they continue to join us.

Second went to Greg Soukup/Darrell Hobson with 17.38lbs,

Third was Jerry Ferguson/Jack Oliva with 16.56.

Rounding out our money spots in 4th was Tim and Nick Covington with 16.29lbs, they also had the 5.98lb big fish of the event!

A reminder of how it can be beneficial to enter Bonus Bucks, our 6th and 7th place teams were our 2nd and 3rd place Bonus Bucks teams this weekend!

Again I want to thank everyonewho helped out and all the teams that showed up! Our next event is the final points event for this season, it will be on the James River out of Hopewell, Lets Send this 2018 points season out in style with another awesome event!
