Good Morning Folks,

Well we finally were able to get our Anna Event completed at Sturgeon Creek Marina.  Our Friday night meeting was held at Hebron Baptist Church last month. We had to cancel the Saturday tournament due to cold temperatures and snow. The tournament was rescheduled for May 19.  Well the weather was still not favorable however our anglers pressed on.  After an all day and night rain Friday. The anglers start arriving at the ramp approximately 4:45 a.m.  Hats off to Sturgeon Creek Marina for preparing for us and having the gates open as promised at 4:30 a.m.

The anglers moved promptly as asked down to the ramp for boat checks, checked their lights and launched.  We had 15 boats registered at the meeting and 9 more since the meeting for a field of 24 boats.  While boat checks were happening, Rhonda was registering the new teams in the FOM trailer as the rain continues through boat checks.  Through Face book and website all teams had their money in before Saturday morning. Thanks to the teams for getting the information in.  No money was accepted at the ramp.

Several of our boat captains also share duties in coaching high school teams and providing their boat and time,  this allowed at least five new teams joining our mission and trail. This is a great thing. Hats off to those captains.  This is how we spread the word.

After boat checks were completed and Rhonda completed all registrations, Curtis taxied out to the no wake zone said a quick prayer and review the day’s rules and launched 20 boats for a 1:00 weigh in.  We had 24 boats registered, however 4 of which decided against the rain.

The rain subsided about 9:00 a.m. and held off for the most part for our 1:00 weigh in. All 20 boats returned to the marina for the weigh in.

7^TH Place  Kevin Beasley and Jacab Neff  Total Weight 12.20 pounds Big fish 3.37  Earnings Just out of money Prize J.B.Custom rod

We also had a youth Big fish( under age 13) caught by Jason McCoy from team Beasley / McCoy which weighed 2.78 pounds which he is the new leader in youth Big Fish. This  runs for the entire season , so guys he has set the bar to go after .

 We had one team that unfortunately was DQ due to late weigh in from mechanical failure.  Jacob Krahenbill and Trevor Hammond had their best all time day on Lake Anna with a total weight of 12.67 pounds witch would have earned them 6^th place. Unfortunately their big motor failed at the entrance of sturgeon creek leaving them to use the trolling motor to get back in. they return to the dock 18 to 20 minutes late disqualifying them. For their rough day on the water they will earn a J.B.Custom rod for “the one that got away “   Guys we are so sorry for your luck but are greatful that you at least earn something for your great day on the water!

We are waiting for one team SS# so we can post the standings.  Stay tuned we will have them up as soon as we receive.
