The Florida division took a little trip down south to Lake Istokpoga. The group had a great time which included taking our fellowship to Sonny’s BBQ for the Friday night meeting, beautiful weather and plenty of fish to catch.
Fellowship does not always have to take place in a church. As noted above we, held the Friday night meeting at Sonny’s BBQ, which was ultimately plan B. This worked out perfectly, not only for the good food, but Vince Lambert shared a word from James about taming the tongue and how it is one of the smallest muscles we have but tends to get us in the most trouble. We tend to find ourselves using it to complain or boast about the negative and spread evil. This is clearly prominent In today’s society especially with the social media platform.
The temperature took a dip on tournament morning where we had 48 degrees. If you are not from here, that is FREEZING to us Floridians. Other than the constant blowing wind, it turned out to be a really nice day that ended up at 78 degrees. Our three leaders in the 2018 point standings showed up in the top three for the event. Mike Robinson and Bryan Heaberlin took first place with 14.02 lbs and big fish of 5.13 lbs. Brock and Richard Nearhoof took second with 12.87 lbs and third was Alfred Robertson and Patrick Robertson.
