A WONDERFUL DAY IT WAS TO FINISH OFF THE 2018 TOURNAMENT SEASON!

Fishers of Men, Alabama South finished off the 2018 season with a great day.  Our Friday night meeting was held at Creola Baptist Church this year in Creola, AL. We had a great night and had 30 present at the meeting Friday night.  Brother J R O’Gwynn spoke to us about our choice to choose God. God is in complete control and his word is the truth. What will you do with God’s word? Will you share it? You may have plans for your life but God’s plan is perfect and does not always fit with your plans. Often we are distracted by the enemy and worldly treasures. You should not let worldly treasures distract you from God’s word and plan for you. You must stay in God’s word and keep improving and sharing. Do anything you can to share God’s word. If you have anything in life that keeps you from a relationship with God, that is your God. The most important decision you will ever make is go choose God and make him your treasure. Where your treasure is, your heart is!   Thank You Brother JR for the words of encouragement and reminding us that we all need to seek the Lord as our treasure.  We had 3 rededications and 1 first time commitment to the lord our savior.  At the end of the night we had 12 boats fishing on Saturday. We blasted the 12 boats off as soon as it was safe light. Congratulations to the Team of Anthony Boyett and Brian Metcalf for their first place finish with 5 fish that weighed 13.88 pounds and was crowned the Alabama South Division season points champion. Second place team of Lavon White and Zac White weighed in 11.54 lbs. Third place went to the team of Allen Couch and Danny Parker with a weight of 11.33 lbs. Big Bass went to the team of John Odom and Joe Turner with a large mouth bass weighing 4.72 lbs. Which also landed them a fourth place finish. Rounding out the top 5 was JR O’Gwynn and Dewey Johnson with 8.56 lbs.  At the end of the day there were 50 bass brought to the scales and 47 released alive to be caught another day.  The 50 bass weighed a total of 94.33 lbs.  What a great season it was for my family and I first season as directors of Fishers of Men Alabama South Division. I would like to say thanks to all the participants and helpers we had this year to make this a blessed season.
