#3  Lake Sam Rayburn

Texas East was off to new waters as we moved to Lake Sam Rayburn for our third tournament of the year.

We began our event with a fantastic pre-tournament banquet at our host church, First Baptist Church of Broaddus.  This church and its people have been huge supporters of Fishers of Men for years and we were excited to be back with them again this season.  Our meal, spaghetti and homemade meat sauce, green beans, salad and garlic bread, was provided by Skero Furniture of Kingwood Texas. These folks have blessed our division for years!

Our message was brought by FLW Pro Fisherman, James Niggemeyer.  James shared his life as a Christian pro angler.  Everyone enjoyed his talk and the Lord moved as we had four of our men to make decisions.  Thanks so much to James for taking time out of his very busy schedule to be with us.

Saturday morning found us on the ramp at 5:00am launching boats.  The morning was cool with a little wind and the blast off went off without a hitch.  When we opened the scales the temps had dropped significantly and the guys were glad to be off the water.    The team of Nassar and Thibodeaux once again proved to be a team to be reckoned with as they brought in the 20.41 winning sack for the third win in a row!  The guys said they caught them on V&M chatterbaits in 14-15 ft of water.  Second place honors go to Joshua Kieffer and Jared Pollard with a great stringer weighing 19.78 with a huge 8.25 kicker!  Rounding out the top three was the team of James Farrell and Mike Gaines hitting the scales with a bag that rang up 19.74.  The Ed Parten big bass payout went to the team of Robert and Timmy Moore with a 8.66 toad.

There are so many folks that worked countless hours to make this event run smoothly.  Special thanks go out to Leonard and Cheryl Claridy for hauling up the food, setting up and serving us.  So many thanks to the crew that worked so hard to set up and tear down the meeting,  Coy and  Cindy Jennings, Gary Baker,  Joe and Stephanie Sekel and their daughter Riley, Rick Saunders,  Dan Hilton, Aubrey Lewis, Jim Spitzmiller.  Additional thanks go out to Kristi and Zeke Richey for their help running the tournament on Saturday.  Thanks to all of these folks for their help in the parking lot getting everyone parked and in the water.
