The North Carolina East Division of the Fishers of Men Team Series held their third scheduled tournament of 2019 this past Saturday, May 18, 2019 on the Perquimans River. Twenty one boats launched from the Hertford City Boat ramp in search of the winning catch. The teams launched with a beautiful sunrise to greet them as they ran to their favorite spot. The weather was perfect with temperatures in the 70’s. The God for blessing us with beautiful day!!
Our Friday night meeting was hosted by the Hertford Baptist Church in downtown Hertford. Billy Owens prepared a wonderful meal that included Pork Loin grilled to perfection, cheesy potatoes, green beans, fried corn bread and plenty of delicious deserts prepared by the Jackie Berry Circle Women’s Group. Pastor Don Carter delivered a great message that spoke about the greatest Fisherman of all times. Pastor Carter mentioned how Jesus tells us to take up our cross and follow him. Jesus lived knowing the cross was where he would die for us in order that we may be saved.

The average team weight was 12.81 pounds and the average fish weight was 2.92 pounds.
