Thursday night the pre-tournament meeting was held at Scheels and a meal was provided curtesy of the Springfield Convention and Vistors Bureau. After dinner our guest speaker was none other than “The Bass Chaplain” Chris Wells who made us laugh and then challenged us all to write a new chapter today. 8 People indicated they trusted Christ as Lord and Savior with many others making re-dedications. It was a great night of food, fun, and fellowship.
Day 1 Results of the 2019 Fishers of Men District 11 Championship are uploaded to the website. Mark and Mike Busch are the day one leaders with 12.97 and Day 1 Big Bass of 3.94, currently in 2nd is Mike and Richard Rasmussen with 12.05, and currently 3rd is Rahn and Stomberg with 11.83. Out of the 15 teams competing, seven 5 Fish Limits were brought to the scales showing that even on tough days Springfield has good bags of fish.
We had beautiful weather today with temps in the upper 70’s with a brisk wind of 15-20 mph. The fishing was good for some and a little tougher for others. Good thing is there is still tomorrow to make some adjustments and try to climb back in the top 3 that will qualify for the National Championship in Florida next March.
