The Fishers of Men Team Series District 8 Championship Presented by Berkley is underway from beautiful Bull Shoals Lake in Theodosia Missouri. Twenty-two teams will be trying to earn a berth into the National Championship March 12th -14th on the Harris Chain of lakes in Leesburg, Fl.
Thanks to the Theodosia United Methodist Church for hosting our Thursday Night meeting and preparing the anglers such a great meal. The anglers were treated to Grilled Chicken and an endless supply of sides to go with it. Pastor Jonathan Humbert delivered the message, as he talked to us about what made Jesus different from the other teachers of the gospel in his time and why the people chose to follow Jesus wherever he went. Brother Jonathan challenged us to be different and see what draws people to us and be the true refection of Jesus in our daily walk.
As the morning sky began to reveal a golden glow on the Ozark Mountains the 22 teams began to leave in search of a limit of bass hopefully toped off with a good size kicker fish. The weather was warm and in the 80’s with a slight breeze and blue bird skies for the fisherman on day one. As the weigh-in began 19 of the 22 teams brought fish to the scales with 15 teams bringing a 5 fish limit to the scales.
After all the teams had weighed their fish the team of Dillon Statler and Ryan Groeteke from MO Ozarks had taken the lead with a five fish limit weighing 15.21 lbs.
