Saturday morning the Fishers of Men gang awoke to clear skies and warm breeze blowing across the cove. Pastor Rob Britton gave a heart filled message about how we as Christians must have faith in God and move from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end.
At the end of the day it was George Headden and Rick Ellis that came back to the scales with the most weight. This talent team came to the scales with five fish limit weighing in at 17. 56. George reported they caught 12 keepers all day but had a limit by 8:15. He stated they caught fish on top water crankbait shaky head and a football jig. They ran their Mercury powered boat to the med-section of Watts Bar lake to bring back their winning catch. This team is sponsored by Ellis Home Inspection and saved by the Grace of God.
Second place went to Ed Kyte and Kenny Bishop with 15.69 pounds of fish. Kenny reported running his Mercury powered boat around the mid-section of the lake to fish rocky points. They caught fish early on topwater and them moved out off the bank to catch them on a Hot Lips crank bait
Third place went to Ronny Jones and Bailey Fain who came back with 5 fish hitting the scales at 15.05 pounds. Ronny reported running their Mercury all the way to Kingston to catch their fish. This talented team caught fish on topwater and some flipping. They had a tough day because they only had 7 keepers.
Fourth place went to Quinton and Raven Frankiewicz with 14.28 pounds. This team reported catching 15 fish but only 6 keepers. They used a swim jig to catch their fish shallow in the morning and then moving out deeper as the day went on and the sun got higher.
Lunker of the tournament went to the father and son team of Leach’s. They had a beautiful smallmouth bass weighing in at 4.69 pounds.
Our next tournament will be held on June 27 with the tournament going out of Louisville Point Park. And yes, we will get to have a church service on Friday night but at the time it that is uncertain. I will keep everyone posted as information becomes available. We will have our fifth event on July 16th out of the Louisville Point Park.
