Eight teams traveled to the great fishery that is the St Lawrence river. The weather was perfect and the water was crowded as is the case in Northern NY in the summer months. The fishing for most did not disapoint. It was difficult to locate the fish but if you did it was worth the hunt. We launched out of Keewaydin State Park at sunrise on a warm calm morning and had several serine hours of fishing until the population water craft awoke, from Jet skis to Ocean going ships. Finding cover in the side coves and channels was a good idea. At weighin Dennis Deeley and Randy Yarnall won the day with a 5.19 lb smallie to bolster a good bag that weighed in at 18.42lbs for a first place finish. Jeff and Julie Raner braught to scale a 5.69 lb smallie for big fish. Good enough for a 16.29lb bag and 2nd place. Tony Bush and John Laskowski came in with 5 good fish at 15.57lbs for third place.
Thank you to all the teams who fished. You are all a blessing to us and make it more than just a fishing tournament. We would also like to thank all who assisted in making this day possible, ,Keewaydin State Park, our sponsors BassCat Boats, Mercury, Berkley, Abu Garcia, Spiderwire, Shakespeare, Power-Pole, Jim Hudson Toyota, Duckett Fishing, BassBoat Technologies, Amphibia Eyewear, Buckeye Lures, T&H Marine, Gator Guards, Frogg Toggs, Kistler Rods, Jacobs Glass, Valley Fashions and New Hope Presbyterian Church in Parish NY and most of all our Lord Jesus.
