The third tournament of 2020 marked the end of the season for the Tennessee Central Division.
Our Saturday morning began with brief devotional and a time of remembering our friend, brother, and division director, Steve Wakefield. I can’t help but to think that Steve was there with us at the short but very meaningful on the water meeting,
Once the meeting was finished, 12 teams set out on Barkley Lake in search of that winning bag of fish.
Although it was a beautiful day to be outdoors, the fishing proved to be pretty tough. And the size limits made it brutal. And while everyone reported catching fish, keepers were hard to find,
Only three teams were able to put together a plan that would produce a five fish limit. And there were only a total of 36 fish weighed in.
At the end of the day, Steve and Chad Sentell ended up at the top of the standings with a limit that weighed 12.82 lb.
With the win, they also secured the title of 2020 TN Central Division Points Champions. That locks them into a berth in the 2021 Berkley team Series National Championship on Lake Guntersville next Spring.
Finishing second, a little less than a pound behind them was Larry and Phillip Harris. Larry and Phillip had five fish that weighed in at 11.89 lb.
The third place team was Eddie Stover and Jonathan Wingo with 11.11 lb.
The biggest bass of the day weighed 5.04 lb, and was brought to the scales by the fourth place team of Adam and Trey Sneed.
Thank you to all who came to this event and, for your patience with our “no frills” set-up.
Special thanks to my volunteer tournament staff, my son, Nick Eads and two grandsons, Draven Eads and Zayden Eads.
