Odom and Burns Smash 27.09 to Take the Win on Santee

The 2nd stop of the 2023 SC Lowcountry season kicked off Friday night at Summerton Baptist Church where our anglers were treated to a great meal of Sausage and Chicken Bog, Beans and Slaw prepared by Parker Coulette. Afterwards Pastor Billy Carlisle brought an awesome message called Make the Right Move. Several men made important decisions!

Saturday dawned overcast with a brief rain shower during Blast-Off as our 67 Teams left the dock in search of a limit of Bucketmouths the famed Santee Cooper Lakes are known for.

Leading the pack was the team of Dane Odom and Ross Burns who dropped a 27.09 Bag on the scales to take the win by almost 4 lbs. They reported catching their fish on trees and went through 7-8 keepers to amass their total. They took home almost $3600 for their efforts.

Finishing 2nd was former Toyota Series Santee Champion Ronnie McCoy and Jason McCoy who reported catching their fish off trees in the 4 ft range. Their Limit weighed 23.15 lbs and earned them $1500

In 3rd was the always tough team of Marshall French and Tripp Poplin who junk fished their way to a 22.58 bag earing them over $1300.

Finishing 4th were the Marlowe Brothers Justin and Jordan with a nice 22.47 lb Bag

Rounding out the Top 5 was the Father/Son team of Chris and Tucker Veronee who weighed 22.42 lbs.

Newcomers Andrew McLeod and Mason Miles weighed the days JC's Outdoors Big Bass at 7.74 lbs earing them $335 plus a $100 Gift Card to JC's Outdoors in Gilbert SC.
