Well event # 2 for Fishers of Men Texas Central has come to an end. What a great weekend of fellowship and competition it was. Anglers and their families met Friday night at First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals for our pre-tournament activities.  Pastor Jeff Garner gave a wonderful message regarding the bible and understanding the words written. The Crane family prepared a wonderful pulled pork BBQ meal with all the fixins, everyone enjoyed both the message and the meal. We followed that up with another great Texas Central Raffle with products from Pure Fishing, Fish 4:19 Sunglasses, Custom Truck and Wheel, RPG Outdoors, Tight Lines Premium Tackle, Coda Lures, Protec-Products, FishCare FishLife Products, Saw Grass Rods, Vicious Line and Forage Lures. We placed some great products in the hands of those who participated. Melissa Eller put together some great door prize items for all the spouses in attendance as well. Spouse gifts are always a hit at our events, thanks you Melissa for placing thought and effort to show spouses that we appreciate them attending the events with their anglers.

Saturday morning welcomed the anglers with 44-degree temperatures and wind blowing at approximately 14-17mph on Lake LBJ. A big drop from the day before, seems to always work out that way on tournament day. I believe we saw a 24 degree drop in temps from Friday to Saturday, can you say BRRRRRR…

At the end of the day Brian Abshire ended up bringing in 19.90lbs to take the win over all others in the field. The team of Dillon and Cody Peters were able to secure second place with a limit weighing 18.70lbs. Following that team, Bryan Cotter and Mark Wilson took third place with 17.09lbs. Gary Johnson and Seth Fisher were able to grab fourth with the help of the 6.06lb large mouth Gary caught. The team finished the day with a 16.34lb bag. Erik Olson and Kory Grelle finished fifth for the day with a limit weighing in at 15.51lbs. Shannon Goad and Ty Eller closed out the paid positions with 15.12lbs, their limit was anchored with the big bass of the day caught by Shannon and weighing 6.63lbs.

116 fish were caught by the field with a total weight of 299.42 pounds coming to the scales.

Above all we must thank our heavenly father for allowing us to share the gospel to others through this outlet. We understand fully that we are blessed to have this opportunity to steward in a manner that brings credit to him.
