Day 2 of our 2024 Berkley Classic Series National Championship on the Harris Chain in FL- 03/15/24

This is what we call decision making day. Do you stay with your plan or do you swing for the fence and completely change. You see, only 36 teams of the 182 sent out will make it to the Championship round, where two will become brand new BassCat owners.

As we suspected, change did happen. Our Day 1 Team that was in 2nd Place, Dan Smith & Jeremy Smith with 22.42, reproduced another 22.45 with added penalty on Day 2 making their 1st Place total 44.87 for the two days. Followed by Jonathan Thompson & Tyler Thompson, who only had 11.95 on Day 1. Day 2, at the scales for them was exciting because of an incredible 29.30 on the scales. This would make their two day total 41.25 which is good enough for 2nd Place. Mike Robinson & Jeff Robinson slipped up big time on Day 2 with a 23.85 bag making their two day total of 39.99 good enough for 3rd Place overall. When Kevin Dykes & Matthew Rayburn made their way to the bump sink, no one knew what was about to take place. When our Weigh-master Harvey Starling saw what was being put into a bag to be weighed for a BIG FISH, his excitement spilled over into the crowd instantly. Bag went on the scales and a new FOM Championship BIG FISH Record was blown away with a new record weight on a Big Fish weighing a whooping 12.49! Their total weight for the day of 28.32 lands them in 4th Place for a two day total. Just FYI, that fish was released healthy and ready for someone else to catch it again on another day. Rounding out the Top 5 was Jerry Olsen & Grant Olsen with a 18.31 bag today added to a 18.32, they were very consistent weighing in a 36.63 for their two day total.
